My name is Alva Robinson, I am a licensed social worker, who has been providing behavioral health services for over 20 years. In my current practice, I provide individual, attachment-based and play-based therapy.
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and Child and Parent Relationship Training (CPRT).
Having worked with children and teens in a variety of settings, to include foster care, adoption, schools, residential treatment facilities, group homes, hospitals, and community mental health, I am able to treat a broad range of behaviors and emotional concerns.
I use a client-centered approach, allowing the child or teen to work through their feelings in a non-directive way in safe and trusting environment. I work with families, supporting them through the therapeutic process alongside the child or teen to help them understand and process their feelings and experiences.
